About the MERA Performance Intercoolers
MERA stands forMore Cooling, More Airflow, More Performance — the core design philosophy behind this upgraded intercooler system. Precision-cast 3D freeform end tanks evenly distribute charge air across the entire core surface, effectively minimizing pressure drop while maximizing heat transfer efficiency, solving the uneven airflow limitations of factory cooling units.
To accommodate the thicker high-performance core and fully utilize upgraded cooling capacity, we engineered a brand-new upper ambient air guide. Developed based on full 3D vehicle scanning data, the custom carbon duct ensures precise compatibility with factory vehicle air guides and the upgraded intercooler assembly for seamless OEM-level fitment.
Further eliminating system bottlenecks, the intercooler adopts enlarged 70mm (2 3/4 inch) connection ports for unrestricted charge air flow. Matching custom 3D-designed silicone hoses are included for every connection position, all CFD-tested and optimized for maximum airflow efficiency. Turbo outlet hoses utilize high-temperature-spec material, rated for continuous operation up to 240°C (464°F) to withstand extreme thermal cycling under high-load conditions.
All carbon fiber air ducts are equipped with precision body sealing gaskets, forcing all ambient cooling air to pass fully through the intercooler core and eliminating air leakage around the assembly to maximize cooling efficiency.
Despite the drastically increased core size and dense full-aluminum motorsport construction, the overall weight increase is minimal relative to the massive performance gains. Each JQmod upgraded intercooler weighs 8.5 kg (18.74 lbs), compared to the stock 991.2 OEM intercooler at 3.10 kg (6.83 lbs). The substantial improvements in thermal stability, airflow efficiency and reliable tuned power output far outweigh the minor weight increase.
About the High-Flow Y-Pipe
The JQmod 991.2 Y-pipe underwent extensive R&D to balance maximum airflow performance and lightweight construction. The assembly combines lightweight mandrel-bent aluminum tubing with a precision 3D freeform cast central collector, delivering superior flow characteristics without excessive weight gain. CNC-machined connection ports for BOV and breather hoses are professionally welded onto the cast collector segment, ensuring structural durability and functional versatility. This optimized construction delivers significant airflow and performance improvements with only a negligible weight increase over the stock unit.
Performance Testing & Verification
The JQmod Bigpack cooling system delivers dramatic, verifiable reductions in charge air temperatures for tuned Porsche 991.2 Turbo/Turbo S models. Full performance comparison data versus factory OEM intercoolers is shown in the product test diagrams. All real-world test data was recorded via professional AIM race logging equipment.
Testing was performed on a Stage 1 tuned Porsche 991.2 Turbo, completing five consecutive full-load test runs with zero cool-down intervals to simulate extreme track conditions. Each run consisted of continuous full-throttle acceleration from 50–250 km/h (30–155 mph). The vehicle was set to Sport Plus mode with the air conditioning system turned off for consistent, standardized test conditions.
The standardized test procedure began with five baseline full-load runs using stock OEM intercoolers. The cooling system was then rapidly upgraded to the complete JQmod Bigpack kit. After a short vehicle shakedown period, five identical full-load test runs were repeated under fully matched environmental and vehicle conditions. Test results confirm a peak intake temperature reduction of 17°C, delivering exceptional thermal stability under continuous high-load operation.
Optimized cooling efficiency and unrestricted airflow are the core of our motorsport-grade design. Countless R&D hours were spent refining end tank geometry and core specifications to achieve dual improvements in heat dissipation and system airflow. Full-system airflow testing — including intercoolers, silicone hoses and upgraded Y-pipe — was conducted on our in-house Superflow SF-1020 Probench flow bench for both the JQmod Bigpack and stock OEM setups. All performance data is 100% authentic and verified, delivering real measurable on-road and on-track performance gains.
